Hi there! Who wants to crochet a tiny little Scandinavian style gnome with me? You can hide it in a hollow walnut, hang it on your tree among real walnuts, and then let your guests guess which one of the walnuts contains the gnome.
Material and tools.
- Embroidery floss in Main Color, skein separated (stripped) into individual strands, for hat and shoes. I use DMC brand cotton embroidery floss.
- Thin sewing thread can be used instead. The thinner the thread, the smaller the toy will turn out.
- Embroidery floss in gray for the body.
- Embroidery floss in beige for nose and hands.
- A small amount of felting wool for the beard. This can be substituted with a bunch of white strands of yarn, or novelty yarn featuring long eyelashes or a fake fur effect.
- Crochet hook 0.5 mm [smaller than US steel hook 14].
- White sewing thread for hat embellishments hat (optional)
- Glue gel, “Moment” brand super glue
- A small piece of thin wire, about 6 cm [2.4 in]
- Thin beading needle diameter 0.45 mm [0.02 in]
- Sharp nail scissors, round-nose pliers.
- Stuffing (polyester fiberfil)
- Toothpick or broken felting needle as stuffing aid.
