Crochet pattern “Sleepy Bunny”

Hi there! How about crocheting this little sleepy bunny together? You’ll just need yarn, a crochet hook, some stuffing, and a tapestry needle. All of this can be easily obtained in the next craft store.
Material and tool recommendations.
  • Yarn.
What yarn to choose? Any! For the pictured bunny, I used Deluxe by Troitsk Yarn [400 m / 436 yds / 100 g / 3.5 oz], but you can choose what you have or what is available in the next best store. If you want your bunny to turn out the same size as mine (which is 11 cm [4.3 in] seated, including the ears), you need to look for a yarn with a yardage of 400 m [436 yds] per 100 g [3.5 oz].
When purchasing yarn, take note of the fiber content – I personally like to work with wool, but if you prefer, you can use cotton or acrylic instead.
These yarns make for good substitutions:    Adelia Rachel, Alize Cotton Gold, Alpina Holly.
  • Crochet hook.
With yarns Deluxe by Troitsk or Adelia Rachel, use crochet hook size 1.5 mm [US steel hook 8]. For slightly thicker yarn, choose a size 2 mm [US steel hook 4] hook.
  • Stuffing – polyester fiberfil.
  • To embellish the face, you will need thin black sewing thread or embroidery floss, pink embroidery floss, as well as thick black embroidery floss  for embroidering the eyes (I used “Iris” by Gamma/ Visantia (10 g / 82 m [0.35 oz / 95 m]), which can be substituted by 4 strands of the same thin black thread held together if needed. If you wish to embroider eyebrows, you will need about 35 cm [14 in] of white yarn for them.
  • Needles for embroidery work, regular sewing needles, and one thicker needle with large eye for assembling parts.

  • For toning of the cheeks and ears (if desired), oil pastel chalk in pink and a flat paintbrush with stiff bristles are needed.
  • Additional tools – scissors, round-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers (to pull the needle through during assembly), and a paper clip to mark the beginning of the round.
