Crochet pattern “Sea turtle”
BUY
3.7$
I invite you to crochet this sea turtle with me. Just look at it, how tiny and sweet it is! When worked using the listed tools and materials, the toy will turn out 2 cm [0.8 in] long, not counting the protruding flippers.
Materials and tools:
  • Embroidery floss in color Beige for body and flippers, skein separated (stripped) into individual strands. I use 100% cotton embroidery floss –  any brand will work. May be crocheted from thin sewing thread. The thinner the thread, the smaller the finished toy will turn out.
  • Embroidery floss in color Light Green for the shell.
  • Rip-resistant sewing thread of floss for cinching (sewing thread held double may be used for this purpose).
  • Crochet hook 0.5 mm [US Steel Crochet Hook Size 18].
  • Glass toy eyes, diameter 1 mm. I make my own, here is a paid tutorial with detailed instructions.
  • Glue gel, “Moment” brand super glue (the glue should bond permanently)
  • Thin sturdy needle for sewing parts together.
  • Sharp manicure scissors, tailor pins, awl
  • Stuffing (polyester fiberfil)
  • A toothpick, tweezers or broken felting needle – used to insert stuffing.
  • For blushing – watercolors and a thin brush.
  • Polyvinyl acetate glue (a.k.a. wood glue, white glue, carpenter’s glue, school glue, or Elmer’s Glue in the US) – 1 teaspoonful.
