Hi there! Christmas is right around the corner – it's time for whimsical and touching gifts. Let’s crochet this little snowman together! It can be used as a decoration or a hanging ornament for the Christmas tree. It will also make a wonderful Christmas gift.
Materials and tools.
- You can use any yarn at your disposal – wool yarn and textured yarns are good choices. The thicker the yarn, the larger the toy will turn out, and vice versa. I used Gamma Cloud embroidery floss, separated into individual strands (Adelia Kiss is a good substitute).
You will need the following colors:
White, Orange, Brown, Pastel Blue, Red and Gray-Brown.
- Rip-resistant thread for cinching. (I used sturdy sewing thread held double)
- a small length of Pastel Blue thread (I used embroidery floss, for embroidering stitches under the eyes)
- Crochet hook 0.5 mm [US Steel Crochet Hook Size 18] (if this size is not available, you may use a 0.6 mm [US Steel Crochet Hook Size 16] instead).
- Black glass toy eyes, diameter 2 mm [0.08 inches].
- wire, diameter 0.4 mm [27 gauge or 0.0164 inches].
- tailor pins for holding pieces together while sewing
- Glue gel, “Moment” brand super glue.
- Thin sturdy needle for sewing parts together and round-nose pliers as pulling aid.
- Sharp scissors, such as nail scissors.
- Stuffing (polyester fiberfil).
- A toothpick or broken felting needle – used to insert stuffing.
- For blushing – watercolor paint or dry pastel chalk in Pink, and a thin brush for applying.
