Just look at these sad little eyes, they are practically begging “Crochet me”!
This cute little fellow with his striped scarf is waiting for Christmas – let’s crochet him together today.
Materials and tools.
- Any suitable yarn in an appropriate yarn weight.
- Colors: For the reindeer: main color – brown, beige and dark brown. Sample shown made from Gamma Iris [10 g / 82 m = 0.35 oz / 90 yds]
- For the scarf: white and red yarn with the same gauge as the main yarn. I used the same Iris by Gamma.
- A small amount of black sewing thread for the eyebrows, and white for the White under the eyes
- Red thread for embroidering the nose.
- Cinching thread (sturdy crochet thread or floss will do).
- Stuffing (polyester fiberfil)
- Crochet hook 0.75 mm [US steel hook 14/10]
- Glass eyes, diameter 3 mm [0.1 in]
- Super glue for attaching eyes (if eyes are not sew-on or snap-on)
- Sewing needle to sew pieces together, scissors
- Round-nose pliers
- Removable stitch marker for the beginning of the round (or paper clip), since this toy will be worked in continuous spiral rounds.
