Let’s crochet these adorable teddies together! Head, arms and legs of this teddy are fastened with cotter pin joints, and the super cute paws are added using the dry-felting method. Let’s get started!
Materials and tools:
- Chenille yarn in color beige (I used Adelia Sofia 90 m / 50 g [98 yds / 1.75 oz], color 33). Which other yarns can be used? Any chenille or fur imitation-type novelty yarn, such as Alize Softy, Alpina Baby, or YarnArt Mink.
- Embroidery floss in Dark Brown, skein separated (stripped) into individual strands. (I use Iris or DMC brand cotton embroidery floss), for nose and eyebrows + in White, to embroider the white under the eyes. (87 m / 10 g [95 yds / 0.35 oz])
- Glass toy eyes, diameter 7 mm (exact size depending on yarn weight = on finished size of toy)
- Crochet hooks: 2 mm [US0/steel hook 4], 1 mm [US steel hook 12]
- Thin felting wool in colors brown and black.
- Felting needle #38, triangular. Dishwashing sponge.
- Embroidery needles for embellishments (with large eye)
- Sewing pins, removable marker for the beginning of the round
- Stuffing (polyester fiberfil)
- Sewing thread for attaching eyes, sturdy thread for shape cinching.
- Round-nose pliers, tweezers (for stuffing), sharp scissors.
- Glue gel, “Moment” brand super glue
- 10 disks diameter 12 mm [0.5 in]
- 2 cotter pin O-splints 1.6 x 20 mm
- 4 cotter pin T-splints 1.6 x 18 mm
- Pet brush
- Oil paint for blushing (I used colors “siena burnt” and “mars brown”), Oil paint may be substituted with dry pastel. Paintbrush. Paper napkin.
